Uniform

Our dress code encourages children’s pride in their appearance and to increase their feeling of belonging to a caring school.

School uniform is important to us as a school. It helps children have a sense of belonging and school pride, creating a unified identity amongst us all at Tower View. It helps children know they have a job to do at school - much like some of you may do when you 'get dressed for work'. It should make things easier for families, giving you a simple daily routine of getting dressed, saving time and money on choosing and buying different outfits. Please save non-school clothes for weekends and non-school uniform days.

Children should wear a white polo shirt, blue jumper and dark grey 'bottoms' (skirt, dress or trousers). Shoes should be black 'school shoes' or plain black trainers (no logos or colour).

Although you may buy uniform with our logo on it, you do not have to. Particularly with PE Kit, please find them as low cost as possible (plain black is available at all local shops).

PE Kit needs to be suitable for Forest School, indoor and outdoor PE (all will happen on the same day). It should be all black: t-shirt, hoodie, leggings or jogging bottoms, with black trainers. There should be no logos, branding or colours on this PE Kit.

PLEASE LABEL EVERYTHING! During the first weeks of school, we will be checking that children's names are in their jumpers and cardigans.

Whilst there is no expectation that any uniform item should be branded, school branded items such as bookbags, jumpers and cardigans are available from Pupil Schoolwear, Swadlincote (Tel: 01283 224512) or MyUniform Ltd (Tel: 01283 619224).  We also have regular uniform swap shops to either bring uniform to give to be recycled and reused by another family and/ or to pick up uniform needed – free of charge.

  • Long hair should be tied back in a headband or bobble
  • No jewellery should be worn other than a watch and stud earrings. There should also be no nail varnish or make-up
  • All children need to bring a coat to school when the weather is cold for play times.
  • No large bags should be bought into school
  • Please make sure that all clothes are labelled.
