Tower View Primary School

Relationship, Sex and Health Education Policy published

Although the school has always undertaken relationship and sex education across the school at appropriate levels and for individual cohorts we have reviewed and re-written our policy to allow it to be fully implemented in September 2021.  The policy is in line with the government's current guidance and has been adapted for Tower View pupils.  Mrs Davies has been working alongside staff and governors (specifically Mrs Khanom, Mrs Hollinshead and Mrs Black) to develop the policy and the programme of study.  This will be delivered on a regular basis to all pupils based on their age and the government's guidance.  There are a series of powerpoints to lead the discussions and activities related to the learning objectives outlined.  The school must deliver the science based content of the guidance and parents can discuss with the school any concerns they have.  The ethos of the policy and our school is to enable all pupils to be able to make the right choices and be confident in those choices based on secure and simple information, that is age appropriate.

The policy, with associated programme of study summaries, is available below and we have scheduled parent meetings for September 28th 2021 at 2pm and 5pm respectively.  These meetings will make available the powerpoints to be used with the children and staff to discuss the overall programmes.  If you would like to send any comments please do so to jdavies@towerview.net
