Tower View Primary School

School has a visit from an Olympic Champion

On Thursday February 6th Tower View was treated to a visit from the well known Olympic medallist gymnast Kristian Thomas.  He competed in both the London and Rio Olympics.  He led a rolling programme of activities for all the children across the school and involved every child in some physical activities to get the blood flowing and the heart racing.  The children thoroughly enjoyed this but were blown away by the exciting assembly held in the hall.  This involved Kristian explaining the need for dedication, resilience and perseverance in reaching the top and doing the best that you can.  He showed the children lots of moves from forward rolls, to cartwheels and flip-flaps.  He also jumped over several children and then over Mr Ridout!  The children were then able to ask him questions and find out a little bit more about him and gymnastics.  It was excellent.
