We wanted to see what made children and adults happy at school, so we did a happiness survey for two weeks at the start of the year.  The comments made by the children were many and varied, but showed that friendship and playing were more important than possessions.  A typical comments was

""My friends cheered me up on the playground."

and

"Seeing my friends again."

The staff also did the survey and although the results were different, they showed friendship and nature were really important.

"Blue sky with white clouds."

This was a lovely way to start the year.
