It is national internet safety week S.I.D. this week and it was launched with an assembly about using the internet safely, especially when talking to one another online.  We discussed the age groups for sites such as What'sApp and Skype etc.  and that it is the children's right to feel and keep safe.  We also talked about getting consent and permission, with Mr Geiregger telling us about how easy it is to find out about poor messages and abusive texts.  The children clearly knew their ways to keep safe but it is up to everyone to ensure they and us are kept safe at all times.  We have included a copy of the presentation given to the children from the S.I.D. site and there are links on our website to help keep them all safe.
