Tower View Primary School

Evening Musical Concert great success

On Tuesday 26th June the school held an outside concert for some of its musicians and the Burton concert Band.  It was well attended and will become an annual event.

It was beautiful evening and the field was alight with music being performed by children and adults to celebrate the opening of the newly acquired Outside classroom.  Mrs Foster had organised the event and the school's Wind band performed for only the second time in front of the 200+ audience.  Also performing were the fames Tower View Entertainers and Tower View Steel Pan Group.  Mrs Foster led the groups in an array of musical tunes, dances and songs including Can't Stop the Feeling, Swing Song, In the Mood and Stand by Me.  There were individual performances by soloists accompanied by Burton Concert Band , who also played a range of big sounds including Song and Dance, Overture do Argentina and Tequilla.

Ruby and Elcie were praised for their choreography of the dance and the general standard of the playing was excellent.

There were thank you's to the P.T.A. for refreshments and the hot-dogs (made with sausages from Packington Farm) which raised over £250 for the school and all those staff who helped set up the evening especially Mrs Foster, Mrs Foster and Miss Neville for her technical expertise!

"What a lovely evening, the school has done Winshill proud" was a parental comment that summed up the general feeling of everyone who attended the event.  What a great summer occasion.
