The judges were very impressed with the presentation delivered by four members of our Gardening Club: Jude, Joshua, Tom and Louis. They stated that "the school enjoys an extensive grounds and it was evident that the children are working closely with their local community to help them develop and maintain the area creatively and enhance their learning." Amongst the things they were impressed with were:
- The allotment area.
- The herb bed.
- The wide range of planted trees.
- The compost bins.
- Paisley's Sunflowers.
- Removal of Ragwort.
- Forest School Development and
- The enthusiasm of both staff and pupils.
Although the school achieved a Gold Standard we are still striving to do more and look forward to perhaps creating a wormery, bug hotels and the new Outdoor Classroom.
A lot of thanksto all the children and the staff for their hard work with special mentions to Mrs Day, Miss Necille, Mrs Burns and Mrs Hakes for all their hard work.
"Think of a world without any flowers!"...not a nice thought.
